Screw Music
Today on VG+ we will introduce a very special style of music called "Screw".
Screw music is records who original speed is 45RPM played at 33RPM or slower.
A result of making the song slower creating a mellow, heavy, and sometimes pyschedelic feeling.
One purpose of Screw is to redefine the style of the original song and create a focus on different elements of the song like the drum beat or the rhythm.
Screw music started from American DJ whose name is "SCREW" in the city of Houston, Texas and became popular in around 1991 and 1992.
DJ Screw died in his music studio in 2000 but his Screw style of music has continued until today. Also Screw music has influenced other styles of music like Varorwave and Trap Hiphop.
Screw DJs are constantly digging vinyl record stores for 45RPM records that can create a unique listening experience when played at 33RPM and slower.
When you Screw you always slow down, never speed up with the goal to put your brain in a different state and experience the music on a deeper level.
