”I recorded this set while palestine and Israel are in the midst of a war. I felt the struggle in the holy land is a wake up call to all of us, to be ready to be awake and make peace with one another. It's difficult to make art when we have to worry about our own survival, but music is what encourages me to stay alive and connect with the people I love most.
I always listen to what inspires me and motivates me to move and create, and try not to change my art to fit others expectations. I follow my gut to feel what is right.
The music in this set is about cultural revolution, and finding our shared heritage, using technologies to meet human needs, and recognizing that we are all connected.
A lot of the music I am most inspired by is coming from Africa, where technology has allowed people in slums to create new genres and revolutionize music.
Music follows the dancers, and the dancing is in the streets.“
