KAIFO
Kaifo is a project focused on experimenting with various styles of popular
Ecuadorian music while being influenced by the sound and aesthetics of global
electronic music, incorporating several of its elements into its productions and
live sets.
The fusion of these two sonic worlds has been built through the use of loops
and samplers without losing the stylistic codes of each genre. It employs
various Ecuadorian musical metrics, such as the 6/8 or 2/4 time signatures, by
recording traditional rhythmic instruments used as loops, combined with
arpeggiators, synthesizers, organs, keyboards, and vocal samplers. These
elements create melodies that reflect the Ecuadorian spirit while embracing the
forms and nuances of global electronic music.
