For Entropy’s October radio show, Ottoman Grüw presents his DJ set recorded from La Station - Gare Des Mines for Tech Noire. OTTOMAN GRÜW is the sulfurous technoid project of Brussels-based artist and Mutant Modality label founder Jean Grünewald (Theatre Of Light / A Body Without). Operating at the crossroads of mutant industrial-minded electronic music, OTTOMAN GRÜW has developed a singular style of frenetic, hallucinatory compositions — combining the mechanical structures of Techno, Electro, and EBM with elements of Ambient and Post-Punk. Driven by a constant need for renewal and a distinctly interdisciplinary inspiration, the sound of OTTOMAN GRÜW explores post-human themes, unknown futures, and worlds beyond existence — bridging the gap between alienation and transcendence while intertwining our grim reality with sonic fiction through a sharp command of rhythmic machine patterns, synth work, and vocals drenched in seared distortion. Active since 2017 through live performance, music production, and DJing, the multifaceted artist brings a decadent yet hypnotic energy to the dancefloor, injecting otherworldly soundscapes into the raw functionalism of body-control.
