Brad Seippel (aka thruoutin) is an electronic musician, DJ, and producer who has lived in China for fifteen years. He is also the founder of Seippelabel. His music draws on a wide range of influences, combining tender yet distinctive electronic textures with elements of traditional Chinese music to create a unique personal aesthetic.
In his DJ sets, he gravitates towards the sounds that have most strongly influenced his own work, including footwork, gqom, bass, and ambient. His productions are marked by a strong experimental spirit, often incorporating field recordings and physical electronic sounds to reveal a nuanced exploration of the sonic world.
He has toured across North America, Europe, and Asia. In addition to self-releasing music, he has collaborated with a number of labels, with recent works appearing on New Noise, Daft Pop, RAN Music, play rec, zaaang, and Jingweir. In 2025, he released his new album A Desolate Hue on Hush Hush Records, and unveiled his latest work Pillen on the Spanish label Drama Recorder, further expanding his exploration of sound-based storytelling.
